Curious about the brumbies that live at the sanctuary?
Every year the Victorian Brumby Association welcomes new brumbies into the sanctuary. Some have particularly interesting stories to tell and we believe they should be shared to inform others about these wonderful animals.
Some of the brumbies you see here are what we call our 'Permanent Residents', meaning they are not available for adoption and will live out their days at the sanctuary. This happens due to many reasons, including welfare issues and trainability - rest assured the best decision for the animal is being made. Our permanent residents are extremely helpful in teaching newly out-of-the-wild brumbies how to deal with fences and artificial water sources; thus they are very valuable to the sanctuary.
