VBA Artex

VBA Artex, also known as Artie came to us from Bago State Forest in 2020, aged around 13 years old. He was very, very wild and the first 12 months were very difficult for him. As soon as it was safe for him (after gelding him), we turned him out into one of our largest paddocks. 

For some time, we only saw him from a distance, peering at us from over a hill before he would leave with a snort. Happily, he has settled in really well and now he approaches – to a distance of no closer than 20 metres – for yummy lucerne hay. 

Artex has largely lived here as an outsider to our wild herds but we continue to introduce mares periodically to his paddock in our search for a forever friend for him.
